Turkish Aid to Flood Victims in Sudan
Many families have been forced to leave their homes by the floods that followed the heavy rains in Sudan over the past weeks, and many Turkish organizations have been helping the affected people.
In this context, the Turkish organizations, led by Turkiye Diyanet Foundation and the Turkish Red Crescent, met with Sudanese competent authorities in order to identify the necessary needs and food assistance to be provided to the affected families.
More than 320,000 people have been affected by floods in 16 different Sudanese states. Many residents have been forced to evacuate their houses because thousands have been destroyed. More than 100 people have lost their lives as a result of the disaster and infectious diseases have increased as a result of the pollution caused by floods.
